Sandeep Mittal, MD, FRCSC, FACS, Promoted to Associate Professor

Sandeep Mittal, MD, FRCSC, FACS, has recently been promoted to the rank of Associate Professor (Clinician-Educator) by Wayne State University.

Dr. Mittal joined the Department of Neurosurgery in 2006. Since then, he has taken on many responsibilities, including: 

• Co-Director of the Multidisciplinary Neuro-Oncology Team at Karmanos Cancer Institute
• Medical Director of the Surgical In-Patient Unit at the Karmanos Cancer Institute
• Co-Director of the Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center Comprehensive Epilepsy Center
• Vice-Chair of Neurosurgery at Harper University Hospital
• A joint appointment in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Wayne State University,
• Director of the Translational Neuro-Oncology Research Laboratory at the Karmanos Cancer Institute.

During his time here at Wayne State, Dr. Mittal has also become a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has also maintained his dedication to education, through scholary publications, speaking at engagements to educate the public, and clinical education of residents.
