Neurosurgery Welcomes Two New Residents

Neurosurgery has matched with two new residents, Dylan Goodrich and Neil Klinger. While Dylan and Neil don't formally join the Department until July 1, 2017, now seemed like a good time to introduce them.

Dylan Goodrich joins us after undergraduate honors study in biochemistry at the University of California, Los Angeles, and medical education at St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada. However, this is a homecoming for Dylan, as he is originally from Bloomfield Hills.

During medical school, Dylan  participated in pediatric neurosurgery and surgical neuroanatomy research under Dr. R. Shane Tubbs. Clinically, he is particularly interested in open vascular, endovascular, and pediatric neurosurgery.

Dylan states, "I'm looking forward to the broad operative, research, and trauma opportunities available with the program, along with treating the diverse patient population in Detroit.'

Neil Klinger is also from Michigan, and has studied at many local institutions. These include Grand Valley State University for his undergraduate and graduate studies, and the Wayne State University School of Medicine for his medical education.

Neil has an interest in research, and has worked on neuro-oncology projects in the lab of our department chair, Dr. Sandeep Mittal.

According to Neil, "I am pleased to have the opportunity to continue my medical training here in Detroit, and I am eager to learn as much as I can while taking care of its (the city's) residents. It is an honor to become a member of the team and I look forward to getting to know everyone better.'

Please help us welcome Dylan and Neil to our department!
