Matt grew up in Worcester, MA. He attended the Johns Hopkins University, where he received his undergraduate degree in computer science. He then went to the University of Massachusetts Medical School, where he obtained his M.D. He began his neurosurgical training at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center in 2010.
